Poketo and Islands Fold host Islands in L.A.
On February 27th, Poketo and Islands Fold along with several Los Angeles artists will be holding a special all day exhibit titled, "Islands in LA." This two part event will allow the public to witness the creative process in motion as artists will be making original pieces to be displayed the later in the evening of the event. Among other features, the public will also get to experience watching a rare on-site assembly of hand-made zines, each made one of a kind by the artists.
They'll also be transforming their industrial loft space into a cozy home to recreate the vibe of the artist residency by giving it a homey feel. They are bringing in some warmth to the studio decorating it with cute carpets, flowers, plants and etc. All in all, it sounds like the art show is going to be a pretty special one since they'll be inviting the public to view the process of making art in this kind of environment while hanging out with the artists as well.
