IDS 09 + Come Up to My Room
(Updated - thanks Chris) The Interior Design Show (IDS 09) show opens in Toronto this weekend and if you're in the area we highly recommend attending the Come Up to My Room event happening over at the Gladstone Hotel. "Come Up to My Room is an alternative design show focusing on the norms of traditional design: multidisciplinary, independent, emerging and self-taught, all within the backdrop of a historic 120 year old hotel. Each year Come Up To My Room generates excitement in the Canadian design community as an edgy showcase for Canadian contemporary art/design practice."
We are thrilled to see some locals in the mix again this year, with Laura McKibbon and Jasna Sokolovic collaborating their ceramic magic, MADE presents Jeremy Hatch of Ricochet Studio, and Motherbrand presents their project, a Souvenir Shop featuring new work from west coast's Douglas Coupland and Marian Bantjes.
We hope to have some pictures up soon of the show so stay tuned. Also check out the "Come Up to My Room" blog.
