2009 trends from Skönahem

It's always interesting this time of year when magazines report on their trend predictions for the year. Here are a few from Sweden's Skönahem Magazine by Marie Warme and Per Wennberg; (Photos by Martin Cederblad). To see more you can read the article here. As it's all in Swedish, I find this translator quite helpful. All items in these pictures are also sourced out here.

Trend - Calm & Harmony. (Fragile/Sensitivity)

Trend - Organic ornamentation (Many hues of blue)

Trend - Raw materials (blonde wood) We've been seeing this blonde plywood (see wall sculpture below) being used alot lately as a wall cover and/or backdrop and love it.

Hm, I love them all, and they all seem pretty timeless to me, raw wood, always pretty, textural fabrics in blue, my fave color...

i have simple blond plywood storage in my studio and it's really easy to live with, it's such a low maintenance option and very visually soothing.

I lvoe to see where trends are going, sometimes I agree, but usually need to do my own thing. Raw wood is so lovely, a trend I can go with.

I love the white on white, so classical and elegant. My xmas cards this year are a white papercut deer on a white card and white snowflake design. Love the natural wood look too!
