Honorable Ordinaries by Christine Schmidt
This month's "Student of the Month" at ReForm School is Yellow Owl Workshop's Christine Schmidt. Christine created "Honorable Ordinaries", the concept is taking a fresh look at everyday objects and reexamining them as modern omens. She created a series of 60 miniature paintings with acrylic and pencil on
wood panels. Each work celebrates familiar articles from bomb pops to hi tops with medieval adornment. She also created an exclusive, limited edition print (10 x 13 inches, archival 100% PCW paper, serigraphed by hand) with a design that contrasts the abstract and ornamental. Prints are signed and numbered and come in a handscreened portfolio. Christine is also featured in this month's ReadyMade magazine.
