the courtyard house

I came across this amazing conversion of a laneway warehouse into a modern house, courtyard and studio via a press release from the Come Up to My Room 2009 exhibition. The Courtyard House as it is called was created by Peter Tan and Christine Ho Ping Kong of Studio Junction, Toronto. They will be creating a room installation at the Gladstone Hotel "Come Up to Room" 2009 event February 5-8, 2009 (which coincides with IDS).

Drawers in stairs--brilliant!
Thank you SO much for posting this! I have been trying to explain drawers in stairs to people for a million years! I can't remember where I saw it first, years ago. I was so impressed that it has become an integral plan of my "one day". Now I have a really clear pic to show people!
I came over here to ask your readers if they would help me with my market research... I need some Canadians (and I know all the uber cool ones come here) to answer the questions I posted on my blog for my business plan. I am sending a bunch of people pretty things if they help out! It is only a couple of minutes worth of time and would help me out beyond measure!
Also, if you know of a few good Vancouver decor "boutiques" it has been awhile since I have been down there and most likely there are some newer gems... I would like to find some non-chain/box stores other than the obvious ones like the Cross and Liberty. Yay! Thank you!
The storage in the stairs is brilliant!
