One of a Kind Show - Vancouver
This weekend was the first ever One of a Kind Show here in Vancouver so I took a trip down to check it out. I was suprised not only how big it was, but also at the participation from crafters and artists south of the border. There was representation as far south as New Orleans, but the majority came from the Pacific Northwest.
Seattle-based Leif Holland from Square Room Gallery.
Beautiful ceramics from Emily Carr University of Art & Design
Various artists represented by redtruckgallery.com out of New Orleans.
Organic cotton-based baby accessories and clothing from Victoria's Dress Me Up.
Some fun things were floating about the booth shared by Regional Assembly of Text, Blim and Malaspina Printers. (All items shown from Regional Assembly of Text - apologies for the blurry photos here - it was so crowded in that little booth - it was nearly impossible to take any photos). Note: Malaspina Printers had some beautiful prints and to be honest I felt strange to take pictures there - but they are having a Winter Print Festival this coming Thursday, Nov. 27th from 6 - 8pm. They are located on Granville Island at 1555 Duranleau Street. malaspinaprintmakers.com.
And finally our purchases, a "Matters of Importance" chalkboard from Regional Assembly of Text and a Typewriter pillow" from Track and Field designs.

How inspiring! I love to see fresh elements in the art/craft world. Thanks for sharing.
I love your typewriter pillow and chalk board, great buying. So many creative and funky artists. I am quite jealous that there isn't a One of a Kind show here in Australia! :)
Thank you for featuring Lynn Whipple! I love her work! I actually got a piece of hers about 7 years ago and I still adore it.
