Where in your home/apartment is your studio located?
In a corner of the 10' x 8' bedroom that I share with my very patient husband. I also tend to take up every other large surface area in the house unless we're expecting company.

What equipment/tools do you use?
The tools I use on a daily basis are my scissors, xacto knife, needles and a cheap paintbrush.
I wouldn't be able to create anything without my stash of old books, papers, piles of junk and lots of glue!

Do you have an inspiration board, and can you tell us what is inspiring you now?
Yes, I have two large boards beside my workspace. All sorts of collected images and objects are pinned to these surfaces creating an ever evolving collage of inspiration.

How do you create best (e.g. do you listen to music while you create and if so what?)
Ideally I prefer to work uninterrupted in complete silence but that is rare unless my 3 year old is asleep and my husband is not around. Usually I'm creating in snippets of time throughout the day and late at night. I don't watch TV and I don't answer the phone during my blocks of studio time. It is sacred!

Louise Bourgeois

Clyde Connell

Joseph Cornell

If yours isn't, what would be your perfect studio?
A large room all to myself with lots of natural light, tables, bookshelves and an ergonomic chair.
