Where in your home/apartment is your studio located?
on the second floor of my house overlooking the garden.

What equipment/tools do you use?
pinking shears, sewing machine, felting needles, just got a gocco printer (horray)!
i use my washing and drying machine fairly often - for felting and fulling my wool sweaters. and i use my hands. over and over.

Do you have an inspiration board, and can you tell us what is inspiring you now?
yes. right now there are a few old letter (love old fashioned cursive), old postards (the language of old postcards has the neatest syntax)
some bits of ribbon, and some polaroids of the ocean.
i also have a little shelf that has some seashore finds, bits of moss, felted beads, and old postcards.
i am really inspired by nature and my surroundings. things that are growing, seed catalogs. hollows, nest, nigh and all things never never.

How do you create best (e.g. do you listen to music while you create and if so what?)
i create best when i have some backround noise.
"ponies in the surf"
here's their myspace
and the finches (recently reformed as the palms)

and i'm a big time sucker for ira glass. i have all the 'this american life's' on my ipod, episode 199's is a must hear.
i also love to have my old black and white transistor teevee going. you know the kind with bunny ears. something about it just reminds me of being a kid- i am instantly quieted. it almost hardly matters what is playing- i just love it's old skool vibes.

List (3) of your favorite artists
cotton and felt:

canvas and paper:
amandablakeart.com
modern by hand furniture:
jrusten.com

now- that was a tough question!

If yours isn't, what would be your perfect studio?
I used to have a studio on my parents land that was all made of old recycled windows. it had the most amazing light and feeling and even it's very own bee's hive (they were friendly) tucked into the eve of the roof. imagine the sound of the stream and the hum of the bees. better than my old black and white teevee.
wish i could have that place back.
