old school, new use
i was sent a couple of really nice journals from five and a half last year which were wrapped in old school writing chart paper. i've been looking for some of this paper myself ever since, hoping to fall upon a stash at a local school auction or something. yesterday, while checking out what was new at the regional assembly of text, here in vancouver, i came about as close as i think i'm going to find! only this paper is even more special, because it's actually screenprinted (and to perfection) to look just like that. at $5 a sheet, i'm so happy to know where to find a stash when i need one.
and on the note of old school writing chart paper (once you notice or look for something it's like you see hints of it everywhere), i came across this really sweet dinnerware inspired by the writing tablets we grew up with from fishs eddy via at home on shine. from graph paper to memo pad patterns, prices range from $12.95 per mug to $24.95 per plate/tray.

iv been slightly obsessing about note book paper style recently, i even based my etsy treasury on it, and iv made some wallets to look like lined school notebook paper :)
Love a bit of lined action. Just love the ordered and institutionised look of it. Library cards and check out cards I also like!
Oops spell check, institutionalised!
That dinnerware blows my mind! Wonderful guest blog on the d*S as well :)
something about a fresh pack of #2 pencils.
I'm really digging the too cool for school mugs! Love the greed and the lined paper mugs! Very inexpensive as well!
oh my, the graph paper trays! amazing! and of course it's all perfectly 8.5x11.
Oh yes! I love that old oversized, thin writing paper! (And thanks for the Shine mention!)
Hey Jan, I'm also obsessed with paper like this, along with all things school-related. We have a teacher supply store here in Buffalo that sells paper like this. I'd be happy to mail you some.
