awagami +1

Asian-based, American designer, Craig Anczelowitz has just completed a new project in collaboration with Awagami, a 300 year old traditional washi paper factory located in Tokushima, Japan and run by 7th generation master paper-maker, Yoichi Fujimori and his family. Awagami had asked Anczelowitz to develop a line of contemporary stationery and gift items for their new product line "awagami+1". The items will be available in June at Kate's Paperie (U.S) and Itoya (Japan). Other interested shops may contact Anczelowitz himself at anczelowitz@yahoo.com or Miss Aya Fujimori at Awagami directly for catalogs/pricing at: aya@awagami.or.jp.

There are 3 collections in the awagami+1 line; two of which are made with traditional stencil-printed "Yuzen" papers and the third from Awagami's eco-friendly "syuro" (rice straw) papers. The assortment includes journals, albums, memo-organizer, and desk accessories. See more pictures here and at www.awagami.or.jp

gorgeous paper goods. i'm in love with japanese styling, the simplicity and details are unmatched. and the eco-friendly journals sound very inventive. i've lost myself for hours recently on a japanese textile site, dreaming of linen. thanks for the beautiful finds!

So lovely! I am a tad obsessed with the patterns on the insides of envelopes, and these remind me of those, but in a brighter, funkier, all round rad way!
