a week in 1953 {embroidery series}
this is such a cool series coming out of minnesota from artist, terra lachance and available in her etsy shop, little big pants. it's called, "a week in 1953", where in her artist statement she explains their are fourteen pieces of embroidery and fabric panels which are an imaginative journey of a 1950's housewife. her name is marge. she is in her 40's. she has no children and she is always coiffed, manicured and impeccably dressed. terra wanted to create a duplicate image that transcends the "cuteness" of embroidery. a "smokin' " hand was the result. its in these panels that she represents the 1950's lifestyle, habits, wallpaper, color, and everyday objects within this one fictitious week. and the good news is they are all for sale, here.
