new elizabeth burritt
elizabeth burritt, one of my favorite canadian potters currently is in a group show on granville island at circle craft (in the net loft). the show is running now until the beginning of march and it's featuring recent graduated art/craft students in the area who are recipients of circle craft scholarships. elizabeth is currently living at a ceramic residency centre in montana, where her husband, (another vancouver potter) aaron nelson is working. her new work is influenced by her new rural surroundings. also i just wanted to point out if you click on the images to get a larger view, you can see a bit of the detail in the mouth of these vessels, which folds and is really rather stunning in person.
