the the new york times featured uk designer, claire cole recently in their currents post on wallcoverings she pieces together from vintage wallpapers. she picks up old wallpapers from flea markets and charity shops and then cuts out the flowers, birds, etc and sews them onto other antique papers with a loose and delicate stitch, using an embroidery machine. sometimes she adds bits of flocked paper, felt, leather and gems. she was widely blogged about this past year about her embroidered tables, but i hadn't seen these papers or her ceramics.

Love the wallpaper. I'll have to check out the site.
Congrats on being one of Blogger's "blogs of note". I love your site.
I love her ceramic pieces, and was just reading about her wallpaper in a magazine (maybe Crafts) the other day.
She is by far one of my favorite artists! I have been following her and her work since I was in school studying textiles. So wonderful to see her work is getting the publicity it deserves!
Dear Poppy talk - I just posted on Claire Coles on my blog after finding her in my Living Etc. mag - but have included you in my mentions - the more information and pictures, the better I say :-)
