cumbrian blue ceramics - paul scott
i came across the work of paul scott over the weekend at bc ceramics gallery. a resident of cumbria in rural england, he currently is a phd fellow at manchester institute for research and innovation in art and design, manchester metropolitan university, england. his work involves the digital manipulation of patterns, images and vignettes deriving from traditional blue and white ceramic wares, resulting in individual pieces that are exacting and critical. love the little tree :)
His book "Ceramics and Print" is one of the top reference books for printing on clay. It's great to see his work and hear that he is still researching this medium-I hope he comes out with a new book soon!
