d*sponge is right, this art-o-mat is exciting! a retired cigarette vending machine turned art vending machine. apparantly there's 83 of them across the country (u.s. that is). and one in england. "the mission of the art-o-matic is to encourage art consumption by combining the worlds of art and commerce in an innovative form. they believe that art should be progressive, yet personal and approachable." guess i'll have to go to tacoma!

I'll have to go check it out and take pictures
we have one at our public library!
how cool is that?!?!?!? :D
One of them is at the Whitney Museum of Modern Art here in NYC. I hadn't realized that there are others also.
There are a few here in Milwaukee. Seriously fun. I've gotten some great stuff and some trash. But for 5 bucks, it's worth the gamble. :)
from what I understand, there's an art-o-mat at a whole foods grocery store around here somewhere... now I'm inspired to go seek it out, have a looksee. promise to report back if I find it... :)
the concept behind the art-o-mat is brilliant, I think.
