brian jungen
in september, brian jungen opened in new york at the new museum of contemporary art. vancouver based artist, brian jungen transforms common, prefabricated materials into highly symbolic aboriginal west coast sculptures and installations (e.g. - nike masks). this touring exhibition brings together jungen's early drawings, his acclaimed works made from reconstructed nike runners and cut-up patio chairs, as well as new works made specifically for this exhibition. the exhibition arrives at the vancouver art gallery on january 28th.
watch a couple interviews on why he became an artist or his process of inspiration.
